This makes sense, but is @944m3 using such ignition coils? I don't think so if he is attempting to use an adapter harness to the original 944 engine harness along with the original speed/reference sensors.AudiSport wrote: Thu Apr 17, 2025 11:15 am The amplified coils need 12V direct and are triggered by 5v from Maxx, it's all in the wiring diagrams and online reference materials.

If one is going to individual coils and sequential ignition, a better crank trigger system is needed. All the front-mounted crank pulley systems I've seem appear to be janky (some much more so than others), plus the 944 crank pulley area is already too busy, get a 944S2 or aftermarket flywheel with 60-2 teeth. Expensive and labor-intensive, but way better than fiddle-f**cking with a front mount setup . . . .

Sorry he mentioned IGBT which would be used in coils as linked Hard to filter out what he has. What is wired etc.
The test output is pulsed like I mentioned before so youre only going to see it on a scope, Id be doing the tests Chris mentioned.

Just throwing it out there because it happened to me but is there any engine protection settings stopping the engine? I had messed around with mine before I did my first start and that ended up being the reason we couldnt get spark.

Quick update.
Finally had time to troubleshoot following instructions sent by vendor. We quickly figured out the issue must be with the harness. Seems one of the ignition wire was in the wrong plug. He shipped out a new adapter harness to me.
Took me a few minutes to install but now happy to report the car started right up.
It is running a little rough so I definitely need to work on the tune. Let the fun begin.
Will just add the vendor was very responsive and did not hesitate sending me out a replacement. Very happy with customer service. The proof is in the pudding, the car is running!
Still wouldn’t mind getting some sample tune files if anyone has them.

Ignition map was my next stop. Found a few threads with good information and sample maps that I can use to confirm mine. Just taking it slow to make sure I don’t harm the engine.ealoken wrote: Wed May 14, 2025 10:25 pm The auto tune function will solve 95%
How are your ignition map looking?
But so far I am happy with the adapter harness. I have the flexibility of 2 auxiliary plugs that allow me to add features as needed. I can change the pinout of the auxiliary plugs as needed to the main plug. For example will be adding electronic boost controller and oil pressure sensor. I can also change pins out to the main plug and slowly convert to complete new harness. I like that flexibility because it gives me hands on learning as I go. Already learned a fair amount.
Found more time to play with the ECU. After reading up and watching some YouTube tutorials, I’ve cleaned up the ignition map and AFR target map a little though it wasn’t to far off. Car still ran rough, hunting for idle. Finally found a good video reviewing idle setup. Long story short, per the recommendation I disconnected the IAC and right away the car had good idle.
Question, do most folks tune idle to use the IAC (or is it the ICV) or do they use open loop?
