@Tom Maybe you can be my hero twice today... Wonderful video as usual. I was investigating my heater clips today, and Im stuck on how this arm moves.
So far I have confirmed:
- Using the foot well slider, the foot well arm/vents move as intended.
- Using the upper/dash vent slider, the arm controlling the defroster vent moves, but the arm circled in my photo, does not.
I have looked around and none of the other clips appear broken or missing... Reading some other documents on the HVAC, it still seems unclear to me how this arm is suppose to function.
Is it suppose to move with the "upper/dash" slider? Or, is this vent controlled by the temperature setting?
Is it possible that the motor for this arm is bad? The other motors all make sounds and the arms move freely. This one feels stuck.
Edit: Going by this Clarks page: https://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/hvac-01.htm -- It seems that arm is controlled by "temperature mix", I didnt have the car running, only key on. Maybe I need to run the car and test the temperature control knob more.
