When I removed my stock wastegate I broke every stud. Glad I had no intention of reinstalling. I think some decent machine shop tools and/or experience is needed to tackle these studs, so make sure you are careful picking your battles.
Also, sounds like the a-tune would be a nice upgrade for anyone but that particular setup may not be plug and play with your particular ECU since you may have the 24 pin DME. If so, there are a few ways to upgrade your DME to accept a 28 pin, but you should know if you need to plan for that.
Appreciate it. Definitely going to weigh options on the stud repair. If I can just swap it out with a new one and it’s easier, and I know I’m going that route eventually - why not? Just curious where did you purchase your Tial kit? And noted on the A-Tune. I would prefer plug and play.

I’ve suggested this video on several other threads. So you might have seen it. But I highly suggest to watch, it will really help you understand everything around wg and boost controllers. I watched it maybe 3-4 times before it all sunk in and made sense. The bulb will go on and you might be able to answer the questions you
Yep thank you. I have seen it but I am going to watch it again. And prob again..

Shameless plug, I have the A-Tune chip along with MAP sensor and Bosch 3 bar fpr. This will also help with down low performance. PM if you’re interested.
Interested. Will pm.

Last suggestion speaking from experience

just do the upgrades to a dual port and mbr, sport cat, and chip if you can (but you don’t need a chip with a Tial or any wg). Bite the bullet cause nothing is easy but this is as easy as it gets. you will like the early spool up.
I am headed exactly in this direction. Incrementally though.. The problem I have now is in what order and how I should run it (dual vs single). I am leaning towards replacing the wastegate first with Tial and either a MBC or EBC. Then complete exhaust. And then chip upgrade. Looking at this exhaust from Lindsey with cat
https://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Porsch ... XH-32.html
I may try to replace the stock wastegate stud and see if it helps. But I feel like that’s going to be close to as much work as it would for replace it. So I’ll have to see.. Assuming when you mentioned “mbr” you are referring to manual boost controller? Thanks again.
Just run dual, which is the whole point of a dual port. It does make a huge difference when used with a mbr (manual boost controller) and even better yet with an EBC. The hard part is getting it installed. So if you go through that trouble then use dual port
Forgot to mention, I also have a Lindsey mbr I can sell.
And if you’re getting an exhaust shop to install the tial, have them install the sport cat. Don’t worry about 3” exhaust, you don’t need it. You already have a pass through muffler. Just those simple things will make a huge difference with early spool up.

The adapter kit is sold by someone who is active on all the forums and you can possibly get them from him personally or from a few distributors. Search for Fejjj.

@chrischrischris thanks. Yeah I have seen this name mentioned. I’ll check with him. Just because I am curious about everyone setup, what size spring do you run with the Tial? Sounds like you run the Lindsey maxx chip. Do you use a MBC EBC? Wondering how you like it and what type of boost you are looking at with your setup.

I have a 0.9 bar spring (about 13psi), which is higher than what I would pick for a dual port configuration - but that is what came installed. I'm using a small regulator valve as a MBC (not from Lindsey racing) and it's installed in my glovebox. I'm only allowing a small amount of pressure, about 2 psi, into the second port and thus keeping the max boost around 15 psi. I rigged up a temporary pressure gauge when I was making the initial adjustments, but then removed it once I felt all was well.
