The leather on the boot for the gaiter was very dry so cleaned it up and massaged some leather oil into it, nice and supple now.
Also started preparing for fitting the doors. During the paintjob the doorlight switch came apart so managed to fish out the electrical cord from inside the a pillar and refitted it to the switch. Also cleaned the threads from paint to get good "ground" contact.
Fitted the fastener for the doorstop aswell.

Can't wait to see this car all put together. The interior is wild but it really works to complete the overall image. It's going to be a pretty special car when all is said and done.

To me the Porsche 928 was such a huge statement when new. They felt the 911 was not the future and designed this masterpiece from scratch! It shook the entire business and was so ahead of its time, it even won the car of the year award. Only sports car ever to do so.
So many unique and "firsts" on this car in 1978. Integrated bumpers, and active rearwheel steering being 2 of them, not to mention that incredible pascha interior pattern! Really a unique car

Beautiful and impressive restoration youβre doing there. 928 was truly an Avant-garde sports car ahead of its time. Loving mine each and every time I take it out for a drive. Truly feeling blessed with the opportunity to own one.

I was able to get the correct colorcode decal and the car of the year decal from a company in France that is specializing in classic porsche parts.
Fitted them today. Things like this might seem unimportant to many but to me its the icing on the cake

Ok so I wanted to get some rest from the work on the doors so started cleaning the engine and tidying up parts in the enginebay. Small pieces that was painted black from factory wasnt looking nice anymore so sanded and painted them.
Engine is now in a state I am happy with.
