Unfortunately not much of a surprise. It will be interesting who might step in , Manufacturer wise, since many Auto Manufacturers Worldwide are struggling presently.

Given the troubles at VAG I would be surprised to to Porsche step in at this stage with Audi aleady with a team for next year.
I think Aston will be OK for next year -the team is no longer part of the Aston corporate structure. The cars are drastically different next year and Aston has the greatest designer (Adrian Newey) so the car will be very competitive. The question is who will drive it. Certainly Lance Stroll only survives due to his father.

Cadillac made a wise choice . A brand new team needs experienced drivers to provide accurate feedback to the engineers. It's the only way to get better .
Get the car so it's consistent and then work on speed . At that point you can plug and play drivers as needed/wanted .

They are not aiming to win the championship in a year or two naturally-it will take time to build all of the resources to design, build, test and continually develop the cars as well as get the drivers settled in. Still,it’s a start.

Colton Herta officially named as Cadillac F1 test driver . Because Will Power was officially signed at Andretti Indycar Herta will probably race in F2 next season to gain a F1 super license . And if all goes as planned eventually stepping up to Cadillac F1 seat .

Interesting to say the least but one wonders why Palou has not been snatched up by someone?!

Based on his performance I agree . Palou has stated many times he is not driven to get to F1 . Maybe he enjoys being the big fish in a small pond . Or maybe it's BS and talks are ongoing behind the curtain . Only time will tell .WillyDaP wrote: Wed Sep 03, 2025 3:17 pm Interesting to say the least but one wonders why Palou has not been snatched up by someone?!

Well, regarding Palou, there's this from MotorsportWeek.com -
"Red Bull eyeing F1 drive for IndyCar champion Alex Palou – report"
https://www.motorsportweek.com/2025/08/ ... ou-report/
A few key tidbits:
"However, the supposed terms of Palou’s current contract with Chip Ganassi Racing could see Red Bull required to pay a hefty release clause to spring the 28-year-old from it.
Unlike other IndyCar drivers rumoured to be seeking the challenge of F1, Palou has the required Super Licence points in order to race.
And his glowing profile as one of the world’s best drivers might also tempt Red Bull into a potential play for his signature, particularly given the sport’s growing popularity in the country."
More from Newsweek:
https://www.newsweek.com/sports/racing/ ... rt-2118718
edit: But Palou denies that anything is going on regarding him and F1.
But wait, there's more!
Aaaaaaaaaaand a brief 2½ minute interview with Palou from 5-days ago. "...at the same time, you don't want to close any door..."
That part starts at about the 1:40 mark.
