Do a quick test. Open the cubby, and ram something in (examples below) and go for a drive.
Had those on my GT4, but they do not open on the 4RS. But it’s either that speaker or trim piece.
I would remove that whole trim piece, just to be 100% certain its coming from that speaker housing. If it is, you can mess around with felt tape, which is what I did. The trim is SUPER easy to take off. Let me know if you need help, and I will send a couple diagrams on how to take off... super easy.

I have an unusual rattle on my 2018 Base MT 11K mi - purchased CPO in April.

Outside of the rear cubbies, on the passenger side right behind the passenger seat, on their RH side, is a metallic rattle. The only way to describe it as a "d-ring hitting a box wrench that is balanced on your finer". I know that sound weird but it is the only way I had come to describe it after driving the car for 1000 mi since I got it in April. It comes and goes depending on the road surface and speed.

I have checked all of the d-rings and they are all solid and do not make any noise. My wife asked me on the recent PCA drive "Did someone leave a wrench in the engine compartment?"

Any ideas would be appreciated before I start tearing the passenger side of the car apart as my OCD hates noises like this. Thanks!

If it's not anything within the cubby housing (not just the door), it could be

a) The rear hatch attachment (Try to wedge something in there along the passenger side)

b) Seatbelt housing

c) Strut bar (but doubt it).

If none of those, next time you and the wifey are out driving, try to replicate it and have her stick her head near where you think it is to try and pin point exactly where it's coming from.

My '21 718 Spyder has no rattles or squeaks - that I can hear. Might be one of the perks of getting older. Although, maybe my car doesn't have any. 😁

I have a 2017 Cayman S and the car is tighter than a crabs ass! No rattles and I'm completely obsessed with noises. I have also spoken to members of my Porsche Gruppe and they have zero rattles also. I suppose we're just lucky!

@71eh Thank you- I will take a look at all of this soon as it drives me nuts. (I am one of those who will stop the car regardless of where I am to stop rattles - with a lot of eye rolling from passengers)
Yes the cubby doors rattle at certain rpm, a plastic sound, and will be taking care of that this week as well. Will repost here when it is resolved. Thanks again!
