I've been Pung!
Working along diligently and have been fighting with a texture issue I was not totally pleased with... It should all be sorted out and @Tom should have final production samples in hand within 2weeks.
We will save you, our Cayenne brethren. No more will rusty drywall screws be forced haphazardly through your shiny new bumpers. A new age of well fitting bracketing is on the horizon.

You d' Man! Thank you! It still blows me away Porsche expects people to drive sheetmetal screws into their brand new cars. When I got my first brand new Porsche (991) and called my salesman to ask how to install the plate and I literally did not believe his answer. Once I found out he was pitching the company line, an empire was born.Rennbay wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2024 8:13 pm I've been Pung!

I can waitTom wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2024 6:35 pmI haven't really been offering them until I get the injection molded version back from mfg., but if you are in need right not, send me an email and I can 3D-print you one just like the one in JetFuelOnly's picture for, say, $40 plus shipping.
New member here. Glad to find this. Are the mounts available now? How can I get one? New 2025 Cayenne GTS was amazed/disappointed at 2 things. Seeing the sheet metal screws in bumper. The vehicle came with tow package but only a wiring harness. Leaving it up to buyer to find and install the socket without telling buyer. Imagine surprise if you pull up to trailer you are dead in the water. In manual it states a 7 pin socket is there but it is not. Found a thread on subject seems VW common practice across all brands, so I found one to buy and install.

Yes, the Cayenne mounts are available and they are awesome! Not sure when they'll be listed on the Carpokes "Store" but you can contact Tom via the email there.

I had this same issue. Even more challenging to figure out having never done any towing. I ordered the Pollak #11893. It worked. In a pinch initially grabbed one from Autozone but I was only able to mount with one screw. What a pain all this was.

Regarding the missing trailer harness for our Cayenne and other Porsches, you are both correct that Porsche does not include them on any new builds anymore. But it goes deeper than that. Porsche (the company) does not even furnish the part for their dealers' parts departments and/or customers anymore, a situation that left many in the dark, especially dealerships.JetFuelOnly wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 12:37 pm I had this same issue. So, the secret sauce (as I was told) that our parts dept has shared with other dealers is to use the Curt socket, part # 55415.
This is the identical part that Porsche was getting from Curt and re-branding as the Porsche part but with (I think) a PA in front of the regular Curt part number. (PA-55415). It fits the mounting bracket of the Porsche perfectly.

Welcome to Carpokes! I'd be happy to get you a bracket. We have several license plate mounting solutions now, and everyone of them were inspired by those self-tapping sheet metal screws!!! Just send me an email at [email protected] and I'll set you up.sterrett wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 5:24 am New member here. Glad to find this. Are the mounts available now? How can I get one? Much appreciated everyone! Got the Curt socket on Amazon and it worked fine, all bolts aligned and fit the harness perfectly. Also found VW on line parts sells the Pollok socket unit. Same Pollock socket is also available on Amazon but longer lead times. Going to order the tag bracket.
