So I went thru and reflowed all the connections on the original relay….
I also filed the contact points with the McMaster files…( see pic .. is there supposed to be two contact points ?? )
Now I get 8-10V on the red-blue with key in ignition…
It was not enough to be able to power-on the old stereo.
I’m not sure why it only gets that much power…

I checked the origin of the red blue from the relay plug and the voltage was matching.

I tried to do a bench test to see if the contact points clicked but I suppose I do the correct wiring/setup to make it work.

The good news is they are sending a replacement used relay for the one I bought that had the same issue.

The close contact point in your pictures looks like a normally closed contact to me, which would not be used in this relay. See if the circled part is another contact, as if it is it would be the correct one to refurbish. I see that access will be difficult due to the daughterboard that is in the way. You can temporarily remove the daughterboard or the relay for access. Or, you may try to slip a strip of folded fine sandpaper between the contacts, press the contact with something to apply some pressure, and pull it out. Repeat this a few times. If you can't get a folded strip in there, just try one side at a time.

I Just wanted to thank everyone for all the incredible help.. The replacement for the faulty first used relay worked and stereo and speakers changed. I still feel somewhat defeated that reflowing the original relay only got to 9V, but I guess I’ll have to make peace with that! It’s definitely nice to cruise with some music… thanks again!
