944 heater always on troubleshooting

I am having the same issue although it started intermittently. I would have the AC blowing full blast cold and it would just randomly turn to heat. I could hear the dampers moving. And then just randomly switch back. Now it is stuck on full heat no matter where I put the temp knob. I'm wondering if I have the issue @Tom mentions above in the 2nd post. Any help would be appreciated! And I'd also be interested in one of those new face plates!

For good order's sake, I'd check the heater valve and heater clip, and then run through the diagnostics found here:

That said, if you are hearing the flaps move, that would point away from clips and solenoids, and suggest the climate control unit itself and/or possibly a temp sensor. Since it is random, my thumb-in-the-wind guess would be corroded connectors between the boards inside the cc unit. Let us know what you find and hopefully we can help.
