One of my high school classmates had a 1974 V6 in root beer brown. His Italian parents insisted he get a four speed rather than an automatic. Good luck with the restoration. Nice progress so far.

Work continues. The car is now drivable, and has been titled and registered.
I receive parts, then I either install them, or save them for later. I'm working on the front suspension now. New OE-type non-gas strut inserts, and some new bushings for the steering rack, both internal and external.
Drove the car to a paint shop this week, and while they haven't emailed me a final esimate yet, it looks like I can keep it at or under my estimated budget.

Have you looked into the possibility of backdating the bumpers to the earlier chrome versions ? In my opinion a much better look . May not be easy to find but might be worth the money .

Bumper backdates can be done, but good bumpers in the US are rare (aka 'expensive'), and doing it right requires significant cutting and welding in back as the frame rails were extended out the back of the valance for the big bumpers. For me to flip the car when done, the costs are far more than I could recoup.

The Capri goes in for paint in about 10 days. Final trim and glass removal is in progress.

Every time you and others on Carpokes do major upgrades, heavy refurbs, or full restorations on older cars it makes me want one. (Which I need like another hole in the head at this point in my life.)
Looking forward to seeing the Capri when she's all done and ready to be put on the market.

Actually, at this point in
MY life, these projects are what keep me sane. I don't know what I'd do with myself if I didn't have something in the garage to dink with.

Yes, definitely staying with the original color—a very bluish-silver. Target selling price is $15k ± $1k.
