Zero dollars and zero cents.

I just like working on 951’s and 968’s

Spencan wrote: Tue Jul 11, 2023 3:23 pm Just out of curiosity, how much do you charge for this service?

Sorry I missed your question on this page.

You need 3 small orings

The rest you are correct on.

This is the 951 throttle body.

I have not taken apart a 944 or 968….yet :)
Spencan wrote: Tue Jul 11, 2023 11:31 am So correct me if I’m wrong here, I will need 1 large O-ring, 2 small O-rings, no flash contact cleaner, and 2 small circlips?

Do you know if those O-rings are the same size on an N/A car? I've got a 1986 944 N/A with the most porous throttlebody seals I've ever seen and keen to try to buy some parts before taking it apart. I have been looking everywhere for an answer! Thanks!

If you can measure the size of the throttle shaft and post a couple pics I can take measurements of the 951 kit when I get home

I don't know if they are the same, but --at least where I live-- if I get my order into McMaster by 4pm, it shows up the next day, usually in the morning!

Thanks!
I'm all the way over in England, but can still get O-rings pretty easily online if I know the sizes! I'll measure tomorrow and let you know!

Pulled the TB and did some measuring, looks like this:

I think I may need a larger o-ring, how does yours measure up?

Use a brass of soft pic to remove best practice.

951 throttle shaft is 8mm same size.

That means you will need a 2mm by 8mm O-ring.

The O-ring has to match the shaft size.

7mm is too small of diameter to fit on the shaft.

Confirmed by the bag of 7mm ones that I posted on an earlier post ….for a different use.

Width is 2mm

On the 951 you need two in the bearing on the TPS sensor side and one on the throttle cable side.

Hope that helps.

It went through 3 Arnnworx kits to rebuild 1 throttle body.
The damn butterfly screws were seized, kinked a couple o rings, PITA.
Doing the head gasket or clutch wasn't near as bad as rebuilding the TB!
