That goes along with everything else I'm reading. There is a lot of feedback about raising idle. It's even in the manual. I didn't have time to play with the FQS tonight. I did get 2 videos to show what I'm talking about.

Seams normal to me. When going from idle to WOT it has a slight delay.

I exchanged some emails with Storch a couple of months ago and Julius said that the newest kits have updated software intended to address some known issues (see direct quote below). I have no idea how to go about obtaining the new software or how to install it on existing hardware, but that might be something worth exploring.

"In fact, we recently updated the software for several of our MAF kits, including the one for the Porsche 944 Turbo. These improvements have resolved the lean-running condition that could occur under high load and high boost, as well as any hesitation associated with it.

I'll give that a try and report back soon. It just so happens that I have this fancy tool for the FQS that I need to try someday anyways :D

I pulled off the sensor and .. it started. Also barely ran, wouldnt rev well and sounded like it had a 300 duration cam. So, I'd say that's too much fuel? 😄

Yeah, sounds like overkill sorry. Hey, we tried. Give the FQS a try with the fancy tool.

What motivated the MAF -- trying to fix an issue? The factory DME/AFM combo create a near-perfect mixture across the board, under all environmental conditions -- the result of Bosch's army of engineers. Pretty tough for a small aftermarket company to match a factory calibration like that. Grump old man mode, but what's the upside?

I was on board with giving it a shot. Now we know.
My stock AFM worked great and it has been running very well. The reason for the MAS was just one less wear point and potentially a little better throttle response. I also have a noticeable dip in torque around 3800-4k RPM then it's fine to red line. Maybe a MAS would smooth out that area? Plus newer electronics with (questionable) better fuel mapping and response time? That's what I was thinking anyways.
Reading around a bit, the torque dip I speak of shows up in a lot of dyno charts, so maybe that's nothing at all 🤷‍♂️

I'll play with the FQS tomorrow and report back. I really want this to work

Full disclosure, I have an A-tune available for sale.

With that said, I do wonder if the Rogue A-Tune was a much better solution than a MAF trying to trick the DME that it’s an AFM signal. A-tune uses MAP and new code on the chip. Still keeps the AFM. My butt dyno did feel better throttle response and better torque everywhere. No hesitations.

I think the A-tune was a very underrated chip and MAP combo. Not sure why it wasn’t more popular. Maybe folks got scared off by having to splice the MAP sensor into the stock harness. It honestly wasn’t that hard.
