It makes getting feedback on off-the-shelf turbos like this harder than you'd think it should be... That's not to say there aren't plenty of pioneers out there, but we could use more. :)
This  But then again our crossover pipe is mostly to blame as most people are scared of welding or fabrication .

That Saied there has been people tunning the GT\GTX series on the 944 but no one i think has reported the 3071 most stuff is either 3076 or bigger . In discussions before everyone states it is to small for a 2.5l . Would love to see your findings .

GTX series is pretty good but getting a little dated. Xonarotor makes some very nice turbos but some fabrication is needed to bolt them on.
What ever you pick go with the Tial hot side casting - much nicer unit.

According to Google.
"Garrett’s GTX line is a modernized evolution of their legendary GT turbochargers. The GTX features forged billet compressor wheels and advanced aerodynamics, offering a 10-20% increase in flow and higher boost pressure ratios without adding turbo lag."

Seems a bit odd that there doesn't seem to be any 944 owner impressions on the earlier GT version.
