There's a popular hack that uses a VW 'self-learning' wiper delay relay. On my 928 it's a plug-in mod with no wiring changes and no worries about the little knob and rheostat. I can't imagine that it's much different in the 944 series.

Man I've replaced MANY of those trim panels due to those clips breaking. You know what really needs to be figured out? - a better solution for those dash trim screw covers. There's one sitting on the table in Tom's first pic.
I still can't believe that Porsche, in their infinite 80's wisdom, designed 2 different covers (driver side and pass side). EVERY time I try to remove one, the tab breaks. Then I order a new one (for $20 EACH) and they always send me the opposite side of what I need. I was going to try and rig a magnet system to make. it easier to remove/replace but never got around to it.
