Yes, it's an undersized cat even compared to the factory unit. DEC used to make that whole pipe with cat and sell it as CARB certified. I strongly suspect it's just a small CARB-certified cat (2" or 2.25") that DEC welds into their pipes. My guess is that it strangled even a stock 944 turbo, and that few people ever discovered that because most of these units got used once every two years.... Adding the cat is part of my overall effort to make it smog-legal all year long -- with 500hp being a distant memory from my youth... But this particular cat is not going to cut it.
