Someone I know is loaning me a known good one, to see if thats my issue.
I do have the cigarette lighter and glovebox light out, I dont know if that has anything to do with why my clock is not working.
Check fuse 11....

I did just go out and re-verify that fuse 11 is intact.
But it was good I checked because I left my fuel pump switch on.
The pump is on a switch because the car would cut out randomly, originally I thought it was the fuel pump. but a bunch of testing showed me that power was not making it from the fuel pump relay output pin to the connector to the fuel pump.
So i ran a fused switched lead from the battery to the rear of the car where the fuel pump is to rule that out.
it did.
Someone told me that the wiring from the relay to the pump has issues but I don't know how true that is. Eventually I need to fix it the right way but I just have not gotten to it yet.

If testing shows the climate control unit is bad, I believe @j.samper is selling rebuilds these days. Could be wrong about that, but I stumbled on an eBay ad that seemed to suggest that.
I also have them, and I'm the one loaning one to Colin as soon as I find a box that'll fit it...
With a (new) faceplate, of course, it does not fit in a small flat rate box.

Soon, hopefully. This is all outsourced to a friend of mine who's a wizard with these electronics.
We're trying to find an early 944 that can test modules for those cars, but that is tricky to find.
Cassette deck radio repairs are also something he can do.

Nice to see the safety wire job. I'm old school and consider safety wire and its proper application an art form.
Looks like you are clearly making progress.
I always considered it a signature. You can always tell who did it, if you're in a small crew. I can't stand when I see people doing it with pliers...and that's on rocket engines!

I did do that with some crappy safety wire and crappy safety wire pliers. I need to buy better ones if i do it again.
Today driving home the car tried to run warm, so thats a new thing to figure out. I suspect that its one of the fans has died.
Been looking at pistons, it looks like mahle motorsports has some, but not sure thats the path forward.
My go to has been CP so i need to call about that.
I checked the Pauter rods I bought for sizes and checked the crank I have to go with it.
have .0039 oil clearance on the rods.
Little on the big side but should be ok.
I did wind up buying a knife edged 3.0L crank with pauter rods as a package, thats what I was measuring. I think I forgot to mention that.

So if i stay stock bore at 100mm that should come out to 2764.61cc.
Part of me would love to build a 3.0 with a 2.7 head but it just adds so much money to it.
so this should be just fine.
