What is her concern? If it's the cost, that's one thing, but otherwise there's pretty much no downside if you have room for one.... Adds a parking space, saves your back, safer than working under Harbor Freight jack stands...

Lol I love the ideas of what to say. The cost isn't the concern she has, she's worried I'm going to start a bunch of project cars if I have such easy access to work in the garage. To be fair, she's probably not wrong...

Now that's making the most of the space! How wide is that lift? The SUV looks like it's touching the post -- or is that just the picture?

I still have to move the tire rack in the photo as far to the left as possible then install my third rack beside it.
Total rack space is 100 inches which luckily fits in that space. Hence the loose tires that you see on the car lift

How much ceiling height is necessary to stack two 944s? My garage is only 9 ft. I'll be changing out the garage door and raising the rails as high as we can go, and I have a Chamberlain RJO70 side mount that will be installed.

The ramp thickness on my lift is about 4.25 inches thick.
Let’s call it 5 inches rounding it up.

You could just stack 2 951’s

Each car is 50.2 inches max height

There would be about 3 inches of extra space.

You could gain a little with a little lower tire pressure too

A lowered car would also be an advantage.

That's a great point. It's every 6 inches on mine, iirc. Between that and the thickness of the ramps, that probably explains why you see advice saying to combine the height of both cars, then add a foot to be safe. At 9 ft., you are pushing the limit, but could probably squeeze them both under the ceiling with right lift. Since every inch counts, also consider the slope of the garage floor. I think mine is about 6 inches 'taller' at the front of the garage vs. the back.
