You're going to love it and wonder how you ever lived without it.
Good tips here:

And I made this video that might be of interest on the DIY vs "professional" installation....

Did you get the lift working?
Yep almost.
I have to turn it 180 degrees.
Bought a 90 degree mounting bracket for the motor and switched it to the inside of the post.
It’s too far from the wall the way it is now but the lock release arm can’t be moved. It sticks out about 12 inches.
Here is the current position.
I will flip it 180 tonight or tomorrow as I need a couple more people to turn it safely in the driveway.
On a fun side note my wife’s 2020 QX50 in photo when in sport mode accelerates very much like a bone stock 944 turbo with lag and all. It’s kinda nostalgic to stomp on it from a dead stop.

You're a fast worker! Looking good. Can you just swap the tire stops and ramps end-to-end and turn it around like that? On mine, one of the rails slides inward so the rails can be set to a narrow or wide setting. So flipping it around would change the center line of the car on the narrow setting. Not sure if yours is like that or if it would matter, but I do remember fussing with all that to make it easiest to get through the garage door and onto the lift, etc. We ended up moving the hydraulics unit from the rear right to the front left (had to change the electrical location, etc., quite the pain) in order to best situate it. Not sure it was worth the effort though, I've never changed the rail settings and unless I get an original Mini or something, I doubt I ever will...
Yep
Just have to pull off C brackets and move them to the other end
Super easy setup for the ramps
Hydraulic ram is attached under the ramp on the same side as the motor
Total cost was 4824.75$
Cost slowed down the engine building process
Still need to spend 550.00$ on raising the rail system etc on the garage door system
I do have a side-mount opener which helps

Yikes, lifts have all gone up in price quite a bit since I got mine -- following steel prices I assume. Not sure what ramps you have, but the ones that came with mine were nearly worthless for a sports car. They weighed a ton, and were too steep for anything but a 4 wheeler... I got long aluminum ramps from Summit Racing, along with a rolling bridge jack and a variety of rubber lifting/spacer blocks. All worth considering...
My friend has the same lift.
He has driven onto it with no issues a Lotus espri turbo, 355 challenge car, NSX, a 968 and 944 turbo plus a few 911 turbos….I should be ok
. They are all pretty low to the ground.
The ramps are pretty light and decent length.

I guess BendPak does it on purpose to make an extra buck. My 944 is stock height in front and it wasn't even close to clearing the ramps that came with the lift, so I didn't even bother trying the 992. Once it was all sorted out though, having a lift is every bit as good as I always thought it would be. I'm not a spring chicken anymore, but when I think about all the hours I spent rolling around on my back doing clutches and pulling the motor...gruhsy wrote: Wed Feb 09, 2022 8:09 pm My friend has the same lift.
