I think I remember dealing with him about 12 years ago. Right from the start and reading from other people's posts I had the feeling he would be hard to deal with so I first ordered some standard items to test him. From the get go the communication was terrible, when there was any. I had ordered 968 door seals and sure enough I received 944 door seals. I said he did not supply the parts I had ordered to which he replied something like it did not matter as they fitted the same. Obviously I wanted 968 seals for their additional lip so I sent back the 944 seals and eventually received the correct 968 seals, much to my relief as I had to insist quite a bit. The bottom line for me is to never ever deal with that guy ever, and I am not surprised one bit with all the hassle you went through. What's the point in making a series of products supposed to be sold if one can't be bothered with the sales side.
Thankfully your car is operational at last.

The latest in this saga is that I told him everything that was wrong with his parts and he told me that I need to put the bottle down. He then blocked me on Whatsapp.
No one should ever do business with Antti Lanksalo and 9products.com.

I was about to buy these adapters about 3 years ago but went for the budget route with Big reds and cayenne 330 discs in front and figured the rears with correct pads would be all right . Reading all of this i am kind of happy i did go for this route as i can even keep 17" rims on the car. Adapters were made locally for about 120$
I also tried to buy the aos delete adapters off 9p website but they have never ever answered any of my emails .
I understand this allot the case that you have to modify every rear rotor in the future is way to bothersome and should be clearly stated .
Luckily you stayed with it and will hopefully have a brake system that will last you many years

Which is why I asked him if I’d need a spacer when he suggested the 350mm discs would work during our discussions in both WhatsApp and voice. His own website offers them for this exact application yet he still said “no”. The man is so disinterested in what he does that he can’t keep the data points of a discussion In mind concurrently long enough to connect the points and realize what he’s putting together in a package to be shipped out.
I upgraded my 86 951 brakes to Big Reds (996 tt) as follows:
Calipers - Porsche $1500
Brake Disks - Porsche $1400 drilled
Hubs & Spindles - $1000 used part, 951 Turbo S, to convert to late offset & axial mount vs radial which eliminates the adapter
Control Arms - $1000 custom billet, late offset to allow 19” rims to clear larger calipers, no longer available
Control Arm Bearings - Elephant Racing
Caster Block - Porsche $?, 951 Turbo S, to handle added load from 19” rims
Rims - Porsche $1000, used 996 Cup II 19”
Backing Plate - Porsche $100, 996, custom fabrication required to mount to 951 ts spindles
Rotor Hat - Lindsey Racing, $?, required to locate rotor properly in calipers
This project was complete in 2013 so pricing is an approximate and no longer valid. It took a few years to assemble the parts as used 951 ts parts are hard to find. Also Lindsey Racing has a write up and provides all the needed parts for those that are interested. The Lindsey brothers are a wealth of knowledge and are a great vendor. I will post pictures later.

We had a saying in the shop: "Custom Parts, Custom Problems".
The communication issues are similar to other seller in other industries, its just some people are not very good at retail. They operate better as manufactures or wholesalers; they communicate better in specific business environments.
I'm just starting to learn about Porsches, but from what I know already, is that there are running changes in all the models. And these are performance cars, engineered with very specific systems relationships. Going off-book is going to present challenges. But for the price you are spending for those lumps of aluminum, I can see why one would expect a better engineered setup.

I understand and agree with the point about custom parts, custom problems. But this goes beyond that and in my experience, the communication issues are nothing like I've ever experience from any other vendor, custom or not. There are the odd outliers, but this type of sh*t show is unique. Nothing worked as intended and I was left with a "sorry for the inconvenience" comment and then I was blocked. He doesn't even make his own parts any more, he farms it out to a third party so he's not even checking the specs of the finished products before shipping. Even the original designer stated in a FB group I'm in that the original designs have been altered and he can see the problems.TooManyWrenches wrote: Fri Jul 26, 2024 8:30 am We had a saying in the shop: "Custom Parts, Custom Problems".
