I am quite out of the loop on this... My car (718 2024) did not come with Nav/wireless Carplay.

With this MIB solution with the SD card, I am able to activate wireless carplay?

I was using ottocast dongle for a while but it drove me nuts, so I took it out.

It depends if your PCM is CD-less then no you can’t upgrade. This only activates the wired CarPlay or Android Auto. For wireless, you will always need an adapter. Carlinkit 4.0 Ottocast etc…

this brings up one of my questions. Wireless adaptor. Does the adaptor just need to be an AA wireless adaptor? Nothing to do with CP? Any recommendations for an adaptor? I used an Ottocast adaptor that let me see AA on the screen, then we updated the SW and it stopped.

grazie

This morning's test drive review.

I usually go to two grocery stores in the morning. One about five round trip, the other about 13 miles round trip.

On the way to the first store, I just ran the standard maps function on the PCM. Returning home I used the nav function and it worked just like always.

On the way to the second store I had the phone plugged in and ran AA in map mode. Worked fine, except it once turned itself off. I quickly reset and worked ok. On the way home, I used the nav function and it functioned as AA should, except I had four incidences of AA turning off with my being able to turn it back on. Any ideas on this issue?

I want to thank 718socal (i don't know how to link this name) for the help with this. And the words of encouragement from this forum.

grazie,
George

I am not familiar with the Ottocast but your AA should work. Is there a different ISB cable that you can use? Where did you plug in the adapter? I would try to unpair your phone from the Ottocast and set it up again.

Just try a different cable. This looks like you’re getting intermittent disconnects. Unpair your phone and delete your phone from your PCM then try again. Don’t use your Ottocast until you fix this issue first.

It's the bluetooth connection. If I unpair AA comes back. But, I cannot seem to figure out how to turn Bluetooth off at the car. Even when I unpair on the phone it turns back on in the car.
