Rear Tire Sizing
Not that I am aware of @DocJay I have a set of Michelin Alpin tires mounted for winter.DocJay wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2024 6:59 am On a related note, are there All-Season's available for a 911? I was told no, that if one is in a cold weather-climate region, two sets of tires are required. TIA,

I also have winter wheel/tire sets from Porsche - Goodyear M+S Ultra Grip Performance "NA0' spec for the 911 and Michelin Pilot Alpin S "N0' spec for the Cayenne.Jbwthree wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2024 10:01 amNot that I am aware of @DocJay I have a set of Michelin Alpin tires mounted for winter.DocJay wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2024 6:59 am On a related note, are there All-Season's available for a 911? However, regarding DocJay's question, I'm not 100% sure but I think he may be looking for year-round All-Season tires vs specific winter-only tires like the Alpin's or Goodyear Ultra Grip's.

A lot depends on how cold it gets where you live and how much bad weather driving you're going to do.DocJay wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2024 6:59 am On a related note, are there All-Season's available for a 911? I just looked at Tire rack for a 2019 991.2 Carrera similar to what you're considering and there are 20" all-season tires available such as Continental's Extreme Contact DWS Ultra High Performance All-Season. It appears Falken has a similar all-season tire. There are possibly others too.
A Porsche dealer is unlikely to recommend them since they won't be "Porsche Spec" branded. N-spec is great and I tend to stick to them myself, but it's not a requirement. Unless you are planning on high-speed, high performance driving, I wouldn't let that stop you from a high-end all-season alternative such as Continental. I'm a Michelin fan but Continental makes excellent non N-spec tires that I've used on various cars (including Porsche's) with good results.
Here's a link from Tire Rack explaining Porsche's N-spec tires.

@DocJay
This is possibly a bit off topic to your situation because I don't know if you're working with a Porsche dealer, but I'll assume that you are for the moment and share my always great dealership experiences regarding tires (and other).
Every Porsche dealer is different and I have no idea how yours operates nor what their attitude might be towards customers (again, assuming you are asking them about tires), but mine will put on whatever tires I ask them to. They'll even order them for me from their Discount Tire/Tire Rack accounts. They are always competitively priced and I know the installation is being done correctly and to Porsche specs.
If your dealer doesn't want to order them, you could order from Tire Rack and have them drop-shipped to your dealer or another facility of your liking as long as the dealer gives the ok for doing tire business that way.
I think most Porsche dealers are more than willing to work with customers in any beneficial way they can. Best that you talk directly with both the service dept and the parts dept. I have cultivated a superb relationship with parts mgr, svc mgr, lead and a few other Gold techs, regular techs, svc writer(s), cust satisfaction rep, sales mgr, dealership GM, the porter, etc. The Golden Rule works there for me.
Having a satisfactory Porsche dealership experience goes far beyond a good one-on-one with your sales rep. Everyone at the business working together can make it a win-win for all if patient in building the two-way loyalty.
Just my 2¢

Hi, "Blue"...
Thanks for your reply. I am on my second Macan, currently a '21 GTS. I have always had a great relationship with my dealer. I know what the going price is going in, treat them with respect, receive the same respect back again, and the whole process is genial. Same with their service department. You get what you pay for, whether a product or service.
I have the itch to "graduate" to my first 911. My local dealership has a clean MY17, 991.2 Base for a fair price. Another dealership, 2,000 mi away but recommended by a colleague of ours on this very forum (whom I have learned to trust and respect from recent conversations with him) , has a wonderful MY'20 992S, but a bit over my comfortable price ceiling. Both cars have summer shoes. I live in the Mid-Atlantic, and I'm looking outside at 19' weather with3-8" of frozen sunshine expected tomorrow. My Macan is my DD, as would be the replacement 911. Hence my query about AS tires on a 911.
I can't do anything for about 2 months until the weather breaks, just trying to read up and learn the nuances of 911's.
Thanks,
