PM's will fail and disappear into the ether if no text is entered into the "Subject" line. That's often overlooked when composing new PM's and is likely the case here.notny41 wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 8:51 am Thanks for the reply in this thread. I just checked my private messages here on carpokes and I have not received anything from you yet. I know sometimes in the past I've had some troubles with PMs. @Tom - do you have a way to look into that?
Steve, I'll shoot you an email at the address you have listed and yes Venmo is good for me.

Not sure but it would be helpful. I imagine a lot of messages have been lost due to that and that many senders just assumed the recipient was ignoring their PM.notny41 wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 9:16 am Ah, ok - that makes sense. Is there any way to make that a mandatory field?

I had no idea! Is this true? Let me see if there is some way to fix that.blueline wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 8:59 amPM's will fail and disappear into the ether if no text is entered into the "Subject" line. After a little research, this is what I discovered. If you don't enter a subject, but try to send the PM anyway, it will seem like that PM was sent (and later seems like it disappeared into the ether). But, I think what is really happening is that the system bounces you back and gives an easy-to-miss warning that you need a subject line. Very easy to miss, but I think what's happening is that you are hitting send (submit) and when the screen updates you (justifiably) think the PM is sent when in reality the system is taking you back to the PM-composition page and telling you to add a subject line. Make sense? See example screen shot below -- this is what pops up after trying to send a PM without a subject line....blueline wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 8:59 am

hmm, I just went out to my messages and found a couple messages I thought had sent a couple days ago still sitting in my outbox. I went into one of them and clicked on the "Send Reply" button and it went. Weird.
Then I went back into my private messages and it was still sitting in my outbox, but when I go into the message string I can see the response that I just sent. Would've expected the message to be removed from my outbox after I sent it.

It gets removed from your outbox once the recipient has opened it.notny41 wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 7:13 pm hmm, I just went out to my messages and found a couple messages I thought had sent a couple days ago still sitting in my outbox.
