I've been driving my 944 a bit to put some miles on the new timing belt. Short little trips 5-10 minutes are OK but on drives longer than that the Factory seats are extremely uncomfortable on my lower back. I just can't find a good balance where I don't feel like I'm sliding forward in the seat to be able to operate the clutch fully because the 944 clutch seems to have a very long travel. I'm used to having the seat much further back and not feeling like a NASCAR driver with the steering wheel right at my chest.
My daily driver is a BMW F30 and the sport seats in that car are perfect for me. I can drive all day in that car and not hurt at the end of the day like I do after 15 minutes of driving the 944.
Are there any better options for the 944 that retain the factory look? Most of the seats I've found that fit the car without much modification look pretty much like the same seat.
Seat Options
I assume you have the regular flat seats? Factory sport seats are a different story altogether, only problem is they are stupid expensive nowadays.
I’ve driven a lot with BMW E46 and E39 sport seats, and they are nowhere as comfy on long drives as the 85.5+ 944 sport seats are. Saab 9-3 Viggen seats do come close, but the 944 seats win over those as well imho.

I was blessed with the sport seats and they are the most comfortable seats I've ever driven in. Did 11 hours from SFO to SEA with nary a cramp. But Wespa is right, they are insanely priced on the used market now since they also were fitted to the 911 and its price-insensitive customer base.
The Recaro Classic line is period appropriate, but also pricey though not unreasonable for a brand new top-of-the-line seat. Plus you can order it in houndstooth. Also, the Recaro Speed doesn't look too out of place in an 80s vehicle and is very fitted and bolstered.
Sparco GT and Corbeau GTS are considerably cheaper and look right, but I have no idea how they fit or feel.
