@Tim 944S
Sounds like a great find, plus Nautic Blue Metallic is an awesome color! Look forward to seeing pics at some point.
From one Tim to another, welcome to Carpokes!

Risky Business lit the 928 fire in me but Sixteen Candles embedded a fondness for the 944. Really beautiful cars.

Hello,
I just bought a 94' 944 with 13,059KM. My plan is to restore it which wont be hard as the cars in good condition. Ive already changed the original rubber clutch out for a modern spring type as well as done the timing job. Based on the whining I believe I have the belts too tight and am trying to figure out how to tension without a tension tool. I will try the 3D printed tensioner for the timing belt tomorrow.

Welcome aboard! Use the tool for the timing belt, and loosen the balance shaft belt until there's only a very faint whine. The whine comes from the balance shaft belt...MathShoe99 wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 6:12 pm Hello,

@MathShoe99
WOW, an 94 with only 13K on the odo!
If it has been sitting for a long period before your purchase, you might also consider checking/replacing all the fluids and be sure to check the fuel lines due to possible leaking if they are original to the car.
Be sure to look through the posts in the transaxle boards to see who has been doing what to their cars for revitalization.
WELCOME and thank you for joining.

I overlooked the age and mileage details. That's a seriously low mile car! Please post pic in the 944 forum! I think there is a typo in there somewhere. Is it a 1994 968? Or a 1984 944? (If it is a '94 16 valve, our 3D printable tensioning tool won't fit unfortunately.)MathShoe99 wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 6:12 pm Hello,
