Had a guest worker in the garage yesterday, putting some carbon fiber in his Spyder RS. :)

My pleasure. As I said, that was the smoothest guest-wrenching session yet in that garage. I know some of those clips were tight-tight-tight and nerve-racking to get on and off. But, overall getting those parts in the fenders and front scoops in under 4 hours, including apple fritter eating time, has got to be a record. The most interesting part to me was seeing the signature on the carbon bits of the chassis under the headlights. I'm assuming those are signatures from Porsche assembly line, though the sticker from "Coating Concepts" makes me wonder a little if Porsche gets those parts from the supplier with the signatures on them? Note that one signature is under the supplier sticker... Anyone know?

As an aside, the last guest-wrenching session at CPHQ didn't go as well. A friend - not Ed - came to change the spark plugs on a 718 GT4. After removing all the panels, wheels, parts, etc. to get at the spark plugs, he discovered his 'thin walled' 14mm socket wasn't thin enough. As it turns out, virtually none are. Porsche buried the spark plugs down a super narrow well, so the socket needs to have an outside diameter of around 17.5mm or less. (CarBot tells me that means the outer wall is about .7mm at its thinnest!) It's also on a slight angle, compounding the issue. Porsche sells a special socket and specifies an articulating extension for the job, costing well over $300 together. (Socket is part # 91872190061; the extension is VAS 6925) We've since learned this has been hashed out on other forums, but for him it was a long day of pulling the car apart, realizing it was all futile, and putting the car back together.

Which ones are those and how much did it cost?

For signature, that's really strange. Don't think that's normal!
