I brought my 2024 S E-Hybrid in for its first birthday checkup. Along with that they did a software update that needed 4 hours. Luckily they had a Macan available for me to take for the day. The most obvious changes from the software are revisions to the instrument cluster. The 5-dial layout did away with the G-gauge (yay - didn't find that useful) and replaced it with trip and total odometers (ok, marginally useful). In the 3-dial layout, they nicely added blue to the lower left and right segments of the active ring, so you can tell at a glance which ring the mode-dial on will affect. When you move between rings, the new active ring is briefly all blue. Also, the left ring now has the G-gauge as one of the options.
There were 11 infotainment updates that had not successfully applied when I picked up the car. They all installed quickly for me.
TBD whether the CarPlay "not a compatible phone" problem has been addressed.

We had the same very lengthy software update (WRX1 software recall/update) done to our 2024 Cayenne S two months ago. I don't drive the vehicle very often but I have noticed several changes.RonaTD wrote: Tue May 20, 2025 6:30 pm I brought my 2024 S E-Hybrid in for its first birthday checkup. I wish Porsche would furnish an outline of these changes to customers, sort of like PC program updates that list what was changed. This would be especially helpful for updates as massive as this one was. I know, I'm dreaming. Porsche's goal (as well as that from other automakers) is to say as little as possible. Even dealers are often left in the dark. Gotta figure it out on our own!

Yeah, my service advisor had no clue and couldn't find any information in their system. Part of the "fix" includes putting a new owners' manual in your glove box. But it's not like the manual is especially helpful about the info on the screens, what's customizable, and what isn't. As you say, a version change listing would be helpful. If they're going to the trouble of putting updated documentation in the car, how hard would that be?blueline wrote: Tue May 20, 2025 7:32 pm Even dealers are often left in the dark. Some promising things, haven't tested yet:
Display of manoeuvres for navigation with Apple Maps
and Google Maps in the right tube of the instrument
cluster during utilization of Apple CarPlay and Android
Auto (Apple: Apple Maps | Android Auto: Google Maps)
(also in Head Up Display, if you have that)
Avoid connection errors when utilizing Apple Car Play
Robustness measure for 5G Wi-Fi faults due to 5G
mobile phone frequencies
(wondering if this addresses the frozen CarPlay issue in certain specific locations)
Improved brake pedal feel
(haven't noticed any obvious difference, yet)
