Has anyone heard what Porsche is doing to deal with the lack of Ukrainian harnesses? I wonder how long it takes to get another supplier up to speed? Also surprises me a little from an enterprise risk perspective that they'd have a single source supplier that is critical to virtually all of their cars.....

From what I have heard the supplier is a German Company with production factories (subsidiaries) in several different Countries. I believe this same Company is shifting production around to the factories / subsidiaries outside of the Ukraine.

My SA just today confirmed that the Stuttgart - Zuffenhausen factory where the 911 and 718 are manufactured is remaining open. The Leipzig factory which shut-down late last week due to the shortage of wiring harnesses for the Panamera and Macan is planning to resume production late this week or early next week.

I do not know if Porsche is also examining the possibility of adding an additional supplier or whether the existing supplier is examining any expansion plans.

Thanks, that makes much more sense to me. They may want to add some of that comfort in their public announcements, which otherwise sound pretty dire.....

I should also mention that my SA did say that the situation is evolving every day and so is the communication from Porsche.

I’m really surprised that they don’t have a local source close to Germany, maybe Switzerland or Austria

They went to the lowest cost provider that could deliver the quality and quantity they specified. I understand that they were extremely pleased with the operation in Ukraine. I did hear that they are looking for a potential alternate supplier.
