944s2 Filler Neck seperated from fuel tank

Has anyone ever had this issue? Whats the fix? The fuel fill neck has seperated from the tank. Gas leak when filled up or hard turns.

There filler tube connects to the tank with a big hose. Your hose may have deteriorated or come loose. You can see pictures of it here:

I had this issue on my S2 where the plastic neck separated from the inner metal liner that the cap screws to. Allowed fuel to leak around the metal sleeve and spill fuel out during autox.

Took a while to figure out (I spent a lot of wasted time focusing on the fuel cap itself) until I removed the neck, filled with water with cap attached, held upside down and watched water leak out from around that sleeve.

Solution was to backdate to an early, all metal filler neck and filler neck to tank coupler (cant use the accordian style with the early neck). Most of the tank hose connections/evap re-attached to the early neck with no major issues.

However, its hard to know what your issue specifically is, it maybe that you simply only need to replace the accordian style, filler neck to tank coupler. Should be a fairly easy fix but be careful not to drop anything in the exposed tank opening (and of course be careful with fire hazards) when replacing.
