Ideas for solving fuel smell
I had this similar issue in my old (no longer in the stable) 944 NA. I chased this issue for years, replacing lots of hoses, etc. with no luck. Then one day I decided to completely remove the fuel tank, which is a lot of work. When I got the tank onto the ground, I noticed the top of the tank was wet with fuel and finally found the problem. On the top of the tank there is a recessed stamping to house a plastic piece I assume is for vapor expansion. This stamping from the factory has a very tight radius that split. When the fuel got hot or sloshed, the split seam would spit fuel onto the top of the tank and as you are aware, toxic fuel vapor would fill the cabin. I replaced the tank and problem FINALLY solved. Hopes this helps.
