My 2008 997 was involved as collateral damage in an accident about 6 months ago. The repair includes a new front bumper cover, head lights, fog lights, wind shield, right door glass, slight door damage and repainting the front and right side of the car. It has been in the shop for over 4 months now! The shop owner claims that he hasn't received all the parts (bumper cover, one head light, one fog light, door glass). When he took the car, he said that he was told all parts were available. I've lost my patience, but there seems to be nothing I can do but wait.

I'm wandering if others are experiencing similar delays due to part availability?
Thanks

I haven't had to order any parts like that so cannot comment on the issue. Maybe call your local Porsche dealer parts dept and ask if there are shortages on those kinds of parts for a 997? I know I'd be curious and frustrated if in your shoes.

By the way, I know you joined earlier this year but since it's your first post thought I'd add a "Welcome to Carpokes!" note.

Thanks!
The shop owner said he ordered from a local dealer. I might check with another?

I would think that all NA Porsche dealers probably go to the same well for OEM parts over here but you might get a different or more straightforward answer from another dealer. (Assuming the current one is not giving you the straight dope.) Of course, often times the dealers are left in the dark on the parts side just as they are on the new car sales side of things. Also, there's possibly some subterfuge at times to keep customers placated.

I do know that Porsche continues to suffer from supply chain issues and it's probable that certain parts for older gen 911s have limited availability.
