01E Audi Gearbox Conversion

Just read something on FB about a conversion kit for 944 using the Audi 01E. It had a website of www.lobb.ltd. I did not include a link as when I punched it in, I received a Not Secure note in my browser heading, but it is somewhat interesting. I'm not planning anything as I have no complaints about my gearbox, but some of the claims seemed to imply a weakness in the one we have in our cars. They are in England.

I live much of my life like a mushroom and may have missed a big discussion, and I have NO AFFILIATION, but I found it interesting and I'm Just throwing it out there should anyone be looking for a change. I like to know what is available for our selected affliction and where it might be located.

Looks good, but I guess it's that price because not many kits are being made.

Agreed...you really have to want one to pony up the requested funds. But nice to know there is an alternative if the need is there.

That kit appears to be a nice and comprehensive means of converting to a 01E transaxle, but the stock ratios are not ideal, gears 1-4 are spaced farther apart than any of the 944 gearboxes, though the two overdrive ratios are nice if the car will be an autobahn cruiser.

Would be a great upgrade for a LS-swapped 944.
