Now that my cataract surgeries are done, I am in need of good sunglasses. The cheapo ones I used while living and sailing on the boat don't seem to work anymore. So, any recommendations? Any brands to stay away from?

grazie

My optometrist recommended Serengetis year ago and I use Serengeti drivers. which are pretty good. I had cataract surgery ya few years ago and it all worked perfectly.

I like Oakley - excellent frames. Comfortable, fit well, extremely sturdy, well made, fashionable (!), etc. The standard lenses that came with the frames looked good too but I didn't use them since my lenses are scrip and came from the lab. I optioned them up - they're fully loaded - great lenses to match great frames! Lol.

I've been wearing Serengeti Drivers for 30 years or more. Real glass lenses, not plastic, made by Corning.

I got one from Randolph Engineering which is the brand used by the US military. Mine are polarized, and I really like them. Really any expensive or high-end sunglasses will be lightyears better than any cheap gas station special. Raybans are typically overpriced, but if they are on sale or you can get a used one, they can be worth it.

Thanks everyone. A pair of Oakleys showed up today. We test drive them tomorrow.
