I just got the January 2024 issue of Car and Driver and I have to say I do believe they are super accurate on their evaluations of the best vehicles out there today. The Cayman/Boxster won in their category and the Macan in it's group

At the back they also show the 89 Turbo 944 as one of the Top 10 Investments which should make a ton of folks happy on this Forum. My feeling is the superb styling of the 944, which still does not look dated, has contributed to the increasing interest in this previously underrated sports classic.

I have to toss out that the Ram Pickup won it's category, and since my garage has a Cayman, a Macan and a Ram W1500 Laramie Crewcab in it, I figure I am on the cutting edge, ha,ha.

I have been very fortunate over the years to have owned 4 E30 BMW 's, 2 E36 M3's, an E46 M3, an '86 944 Turbo, and 3 Cayman. So I've been glad that C&D agrees with my tastes!

Over the years I think many of us believe Car and Driver has been a bit too Import Focused and since I have often had quite a few American Performance cars they seldom made the cut. It was nice to see the Cadillac Blackwings in the listings as I still think there are some terrific machines built in the US. Surprisingly, though I have been a PCA Instructor for decades my first two Porsches popped in my garage this year. Partly due to the fact that the Porsche of Omaha Manager is a good friend, my son Ryan works there, and the fact that my wife needed a newer SUV. The Macan S is so much fun to drive and when my deposited order finally got an allocation after over a year, I just decided it was time to trade in my Mach 1 and jump into a Cayman. Easy decision since I have loved the car from the day they came out. No regrets and nice to read that like you, Car and Driver agrees with me also, ha.
