I can see Porsche going to a much smaller displacement Flat 6 turbo'd with hybrid applications. Partly as a weight issue and also because the ICE continues to get more power year after year even as the rumors of its demise persist.

I'm comforted by the penultimate paragraph: However, CarBuzz reports there's no sign at this stage the Porsche 911 will be sold as a production car with a V4 engine – more likely retaining the ‘flat-six’ engine it has had since the model’s inception.

On the other hand, the 'did' sell the 912 and 912E....
