Mine was for my 104.5 bore. Would love to compare. I'll mic mine, but .066" is in the ballpark from memory for the bite ring thingie. Do you think mine is thicker or thinner?? Since I haven't used mine yet, am I missing out on anything?Fejjj951 wrote: Tue Nov 30, 2021 8:03 am
That gasket was a completely different spec.
These are designed for up to 104.77 bores and have a thickness of 0.066.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom for flushing the oil and coolant in the block after doing the head gasket? I got a bit of old head gasket material in the coolant gally and oil passages before I wised up and filled the gaps with shop towels.
Should I just rinse the coolant system with distilled water twice before I fill it with my phosphate-free coolant? What about oil, I was thinking I would just rinse with cheap conventional 20w50 and then fill will brad Penn and a new filter to finish it off. Any thoughts? I heard some people just open the coolant drain plug on the block and rinse with a garden hose, should I do that? It seems pretty aggressive.

Yikes! should I be concerned about the scouring on one of the cam tower lifter cylinders? The rest look fine... touch it up with high-grit paper?

How did that happen!!? Can you feel the scratch with your fingernail? How does the lifter that came out of there look?

Dang it! ran great before I pulled it apart.
A guy in SF is selling a Turbo cam tower for $50 might just have to pick that up and swap my cam and other hardware over.

Hmmm.... If it was already there and the lifter shows no wear/damage, and if you can't feel it with your fingernail, then I'd probably just run it and see what happens. On the other hand, if its deep enough to catch your fingernail, cam towers are cheap and there's not much to swap over other than seals you'd want to do anyway....
