I wonder how many EV's are evident on I90 in Montana? I canceled my order for a Lucid after my friend's bad experience with service, glad I did. Ford just announced a big recall of Mach E's too.

In other news, Tesla stock plummeted on poor earnings, and Toyota's previous CEO released a statement; "I told you so".
Apartment dwellers still can't charge electric cars, so the resale market is nearly non existent. This may be just a slight hurdle in the development of the electric future or it could be a deal killer.

Maybe I'm just cold-blooded, but give me ICE forever! Seriously now, I am not opposed to electric cars, once we get the grid to support them, and battery technology that can't burn down entire parking structures and sink huge cargo ships. My neighbor installled a lithium ion battery into his garden tractor. It exploded during recharge, ignited his garage, and burned down his entire house, nearly killing his kids (their bedroom was above the garage). At this time, I would NEVER park an EV in my garage or anywhere near my home, so how the heck could I charge it? Plus, the batteries are so expensive and delicate, small collisions often result in total vehicle write-offs. This has caused ever-increasing numbers of insurance companies to stop underwriting EV's altogether, and the remainder to increase rates sharply. Plus, EV's do not operate well in extremes of heat and cold - range drops precipitously if you use heat or air conditioning, or drive in snow. Plus, don't try to haul a trailer with an EV - your range will be reduced by 50 to 66%. Plus, once your battery expires, your car is worthless, which is why EV's sell on BAT sell for such low dollars. Plus, how do you improve society or the ecology by expanding open pit mines and hiring children to labor in them, common practice in the search for rare earths? Plus, plus, plus - too bad the word "plus" is required for conventional English phrasing of these points, because they are all huge minuses for EV's. Give me a good horse over a current model EV!

Ah, but this is not the intention of our Green overlords. Though I would never own a current technology EV because of the inherent danger of unquenchable lithium fire (like the fire of a magnesium flare, though possibly more poisonous), EV's parked and charged at the curb, for use by people with short driving radii and very fixed time schedules, could make sense. This is clearly not all of us - clearly a minority - but Greenies want us all to convert. One size does not fit all, and in order to retain efficient economies and satisfying lifestyles, we need the best solutions. For coming decades, the IC solution will be best for most, and should not be downplayed or, worse yet, abandoned.

I may have stated this previously, sorry if it's repetitive (I'm old), but the ultimate goal of the radical greenness isn't for everyone to drive an EV, but for NO ONE to drive, period(except the overlords, of course. EV's are merely an interim goal. I have no issues with electric cars, buy one if you want and it fits your lifestyle, but I'm totally opposed to governments cramming them down our throats. Let stand or fall on their own.
I believe 10 years or so hence the car makers will be bankrupt and scrambling to build ICE vehicles because no one is buying EV's. They will expect(and likely get) bailouts from Uncle. Just my opinion.

I agree with way ^^^^^^above on the hybrid option… it makes the most sense.
Last week the family and I drove 3hrs and stopped to eat at an actual sit down restaurant. I figure we’re in there 40 minutes… when I pulled into the lot across the way was an older couple plugged in to a Tesla station… when we came out they were still plugged in… honestly, I just couldn’t/wouldn’t do that.. I’m going to be in the DD car market soon and for once in my life I don’t know what I want….

@Bill in Bama - I agree that the intention is to restrict our travel and isolate us in "15 minute cities". That way, with everyone centralized, urban mass transit can be implemented to replace the freedom of individual cars. Restriction of freedoms is the goal - consider the many Green and liberal efforts to restrict free speech. Freedoms make us uncontrollable, and control is the ultimate goal of many powerful people. Many of these globalists employ climate politics to further their agenda of control.
@GT3Twenty10 - Recently, the freakin' White House sent the Secretary of Transportation on a long distance public relations trip across country in an electric Ford pickup. They were into the trip about a day, and stopped to recharge. The line was huge and would have delayed their progress, disproving their point. So they used their authority to cut to the front of the line. An irate female citizen complained loudly, forcing the Secretary to drive on on a reduced charge. The irate citizen also got her story public, defeating the purpose of the trip. Other problems ensued, such as multiple non-working chargers, charger hookup incompatibility and so on - the trip turned into a debacle. Current EV tech was exposed a the nightmare we can all share by cooperating in this boondoggle. In addition to all the travel horrors, the egregious expense and losses, both personal and public, will bankrupt us all.
