I have a 2016 Cayman S with a current TPMS issue which is in part my own fault. After getting a driver information message last week while driving one evening that indicated I had low tire pressure in my right front tire, I pulled over to check. It looked fine, so I continued on my way. When I returned home, I checked tire pressures with an accurate gauge and all seemed high but good. Next morning I checked cold tire pressures, and everything was spot on. The dashboard indication of a pressure problem still existed. So next, the stupid part, I got out my scanner, a TopDon Phoenix Lite 2, and took the option it offered of resetting the TPMS module to "factory spec." I never thought that option referred to factory spec. of the module before it was coded. Of course, I wiped out all of the module's coding--with no backup for replacement. Stupid me! The TopDon now indicates a fault with the the error being C11006--coding. In all likelihood I originally had a faulty tire pressure sensor, but I made things much worse. My dashboard indication every time I start the car indicates I must go to my dealer for service. A member on another forum claims I didn't wipe out anything, and that if I put the system in "learning mode" by changing wheel size, etc. it will start working again. Anyone have any advice for me about this? If not, I shall keep my scheduled dealer appointment for coding and sensor replacement if necessary which is set for next week.

My visit to the local Porsche dealership is scheduled for Aug. 29. I'll post the outcome right after that.

Kept my appointment with the local Porsche dealership's service dept. and all went very well...better than expected. They quickly found the lack of coding in the TPMS module and re-coded it with their PIWIS. TPMS started working normally again. It took them less than an hour to fix the issue. No pressure sensors were needed. Cost was quite reasonable at $250.

i have a 07 CS with 117k, i have nightmares about the tmps. Have spent ~1200$ but what i have working now is visual on the tire pressures which are accurate but the front left pressure appears where the back left pressure is hence error codes plus a O2 code, my dash is a lit up but it sure runs good. as to the tpms, the "solution" seems to be in terminal box under the front hood. maybe some day............

Very interesting. Let it be known, though, that my TPMS issue was completely resolved (coding error--my own fault) by my Porsche dealer. They did not charge me a fortune and they did the work very quickly. Perhaps I'm just fortunate enough to have a good, honest and reasonable dealer.
