the GT4RS shifter “grips” the shift boot where the boot meets the knob. The shifter shaft is actually a center shaft and an outer shaft which click together and hold the boot up at the knob.
To change the boot, you need to slide the outer shaft OFF the inner shaft and the boot will slide right off. To release the outer shaft, two pressure points need to be released simultaneously. If you fiddle with it, you’ll probably figure it out like I did, but it’s tricky.
If I had it to do over again, I might just go to my favorite Porsche dealer and ask for help.
Like I said, not easy to explain in words, but well worth the effort.
