Continuing my retrospective look into my journey towards Porsche ownership.

On waiting (April 20, 2022 - 11 months ago)

"Everything—every single control—is weighted perfectly and tuned for tactility."

So, doing a little scrub of the forums to get a sense of recent wait times.

For people in our general order camp (May-Jul 2021) the average wait time for an allocation is around 9.5 months, which is where we are about now. Meaning we aren't out of whack yet, even though because of our 'false start' it feels like forever.

Maybe something will happen soon. At least Porsche has started production again.

I feel your pain. My 911 took from July '21 to Jan '23.
It was worth waiting for.

I definitely believe that - when we take delivery in Germany in July, it will be a little over three years since we started this journey!

   Three years! That's some serious dedication to the process. I don't think I've ever heard any new Porsche owners say it wasn't worth the wait though! Fingers crossed these last few month pass without any hiccups!

It took 11 months from the time I gave the dealer a deposit until it rolled off the trailer. When the factory sends you a baby picture or two you'll start feel a bit better.

Agree with your sentiments and therapy for Luke - those TYD photos are manna from heaven (or Thorazine if you've turned psychotic while waiting interminably...).

By the way, welcome to Carpokes! Please feel free to join whenever you wish - lots of good people here sharing ideas, experiences and knowledge of the highest order: great automobiles, Porsche's mostly!

It took about 6 months from my order to delivery (CGTS 4.0). Lots of ups and downs with the delays, but it was worth it.

General consensus is that the wait is worth it yep!!!! Of course that could easily be confirmation bias, but whatever, I'm in for a penny, in for a pound. Or rather thousands of pounds (dollars) :-)
