--Please say so if you disagree--

Just saying as was one that didn't like the Porsche 996 at first. I had a 1993 Porsche 911SC, and a 1996 Porsche 911 993. These were great cars that are worth twice+ what I paid for them.. I think it was the weird 996 headlights that first got me ?

I was clearly misinformed and maybe nuts as I look back today.

The older Porsche 911 'air cooled' were great cars, No Doubt. I could get the valves adjusted with the normal other maintenance. No problem even though the A/C never worked well.

I think the 1996-2012 are good cars today (after the IMS repair, if needed.). I got in with an used 997.1 which was a great car.

My next new car was a 991.1 It was a 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera that I got new. This was the best car ever made at the time. No doubt. Darn good car:

I really liked the 992 car. It's also great. Porsche widened the rear fenders to look like a Turbo?
I got a new one for much less than MSRP.

I ordered a 2023 911 Turbo S a year ago, but the dealer got a new allocation for a 2023 Turbo if I wanted it this year. Why not? Porsche gave me a picture so I am all in (my 8th 1911):

I am also worried about the only electric cars coming soon.

Re the 996, it's got to be the biggest Porsche bargain going right now. The turbos started creeping up after people realized they were pure gifts in the $30's and $40k's, but the non-turbos are still pretty cheap for what you get. My neighbor has one and, among other things, Porsche put a ton of effort into making that car sound like the out-going air-cooled cars. It fools me every time I hear it coming up the street. 296 or 320 HP in a 3k lbs. car with fairly modern Porsche engineering for $20 to $30k..... But for a few styling elements, that's a lot of car for that money, IMS bearings aside....

What new car? I don't have one on order? 911R does though. I promise to get your bezels to you before the car arrives though. :)

Oh no, thanks to this thread bump, I just realized I totally dropped the ball on bezels for your new car. PM me if you'd still like them!

If I had a big garage, I'd have 996, a 997, and two 992 Porsche 911 cars.

Plus most air-cooled 911 cars.

It's just that garage spaces around here are expensive. I had two at the local Public Storage facility. They went from $90/month to $250/month. Each space.

It is called inflation. It happens. It's my fault for not having a better plan. I also lost $10 on the Super Bowl game.

I say good fortune comes from previous failures. I think my better luck will start at Werks Reunion at Amelia on 3-3-23.
