I got a 2010 Boxster about 5 months ago and the seller didn’t reset the service interval, so I got the “Service Required” message.
I’d like to get a reasonably priced scanner that will work on the Boxster and our ‘13 Touareg too.
Any suggestions?

If you follow this link to our 981 oil change guide, and download the guide, it gives a step-by-step overview of how to reset the service lights using the iCarSoft POR V2.0 tool. It was about $150 at the time, so the cheapest then-available. Terrible documentation, but we ultimately figured it out (and detailed how to use it in the guide) and it did in fact turn off the service lights. Just be sure to get the one that covers your car(s). iCarSoft sells a dizzying collection of similar tools with confusingly similar names and overlapping model coverage....

I'm very happy with my Durametric. I paid about $100 for it.
