Over rev

Hi all,
I read somewhere that any car that went over the rev limit cannot be CPOed.
I may have driven in manual mode recently and inadvertently went a tad into the red for a split second. I know its bad for the engine but wondering if this will immediately hit me at resale.
Any input from the group?

Sounds as if you have PDK, if so no worries, no money shifts possible.

Porsche separates over-revs into ranges. Pushing a little past redline is likely a range 1 over-rev, if anything. I don't think Porsche would have any issue CPO'ing a car with some range 1 over-revs. It's probably hard to find a 911 or Boxster without some range 1 and 2 over-revs. Here's a good PCA tech summary that shows the ranges for a car with a 7200 redline. With a PDK, I don't think you can create any over-revs that Porsche would care about. I've heard that dealers don't even run an over-rev report on pdk cars.

Oh awesome. Thank you both, this making me feel better. I noticed that the PDF didn't shift up by itself when I got a bit into the red but it sounds like if I had gone a bit further it might have.
Looks like I'm ok. Worst case its a very minor issue and should be something I can deal with when I trade it in for my new Porsche.
