Hi all - undecided if I get the Blackview or the Porsche dashcam.

Which dashcam do you use? Do you know if the Blackview dashcams can be used with the Porsche dashcam pre-installation.

Thanks,
JP

I'm getting the Porsche dash cam prewiring in my 2023 992 Cabriolet

I believe the oem dash cam wire harness for the Porsche camera supplies 12 volts - I don't know if the connector is proprietary.

I think the Blackview cameras also require a 12 volt power supply so other than maybe having to modify the connector the power supply voltage will work.

A lot of the cheaper dash cams use a 5v power supply usually supplied from a USB source.

I presently have a 70Mai dashcam installed in my coupe which uses a 5v power supply

I purchased a long micro usb to USB cable and powered the camera from 12 volt power supply on the passenger side using a USB plug in adapter and a 12volt to 5 volt converter

The cable I hid under the headliner and behind the A pillar rubber gasket totally unseen.

I may buy the Porsche dash cam when I get my new car but the 70Mai works well for my needs
