Here is an .stl file for a small insert you can use to repair loose or broken slider knobs on the 993, 964, and 944 climate control units. It repairs Porsche part number 944-653-205-00-01C. Not sure how common this problem is, but I've seen it on way too many Porsches to think I'm the only one. New knobs are available, but they sell for a pretty hefty p-tax at $37.55 per knob at full retail! This insert gives your original parts new life for maybe a penny's worth of plastic. :) See video below showing how to use them.

They are small, so best to slow the printer way down and use the highest resolution your printer can manage. Mine are done at .15mm layer height in ABS. Print with the recess up with no support, and a small brim if needed.

@Efren -- saw your comment on YouTube. Come to the downtown Saratoga car show tomorrow and I'll bring a set of these inserts for you!

The link is in the first post of this thread. Look for "Heater Slider Repair by Carpokes.stl" just above the first picture. :)

Hi Tom - always appreciated your input and contribution. Been following from Rennlist & Facebook.

Do I have to wait for some sort of profile confirmation to download the file? It's just blank text for me. Can't find an downloadable link anywhere despite using both Chrome and Edge.

Thanks.

Hope you don't mind but I restored your post. The system won't let you download without 1 post, which is why it seemed fixed after you posted your question. If you delete it, the system won't let you download again..... And thanks for the kind words and welcome to Carpokes!

p.s., if needed, you can scale up or down 1% or so to get a perfect fit. It's perfect as is on my printer, but not all printers are calibrated the same, especially for such small parts. Would love to see your results if you print it and fix your slider knobs!
