On the 992, has anyone found a good, temporary mount for a camera or iPhone to record the speedometer/tach while driving?

@Tom I'm thinking about putting my GoPro and suction it on the sunroof pointing to the gauge cluster and see if I can get a good reading and view from there. Other than that, they have different mounts for the GoPro, like head mount and chest mount.

I like the suction cup idea, but if there isn't anything out there for this already, I may have to try designing a 3D printed mount that suction cups to the gauge face. Just not sure how far back a go-pro would need to be in order to focus and get enough of the gauges....?

@Tom I can try to see how near and or far the GoPro has to be when mounted on front of the gauge cluster and see how clear the view is. And I will update you.

Awesome, thanks. Let me know what model you have too. Seems the focal length varies by model....

@Tom sorry that it has taken me so long to post this. I've been so busy and got into an accident yesterday too. Sucks. Anyways, the suction cup for the GoPro is too big to be able to be used on the steering column. And even if you could, the steering column will have to be moved towards you so much. I tired to put it on the driver side window, but the steering wheel covers the Tach. The only spot that I thought it would be beneficial is if you use the GoPro chest mount, it will have direct access to the cluster. I have not tried the suction cup on the sunroof and the GoPro pointing towards the cluster.

I need to get back to that as a project. I'm sure I could print something with a suction cup or three that holds the camera where needed....

Now... Accident?!? I sincerely hope you, your awesome family, and everyone involved, walked away without a scratch!! So sorry to hear this. :(

Everything is good, it was on my truck. This lady was driving on the right lane, I was on the left lane through town. On the left of me, there are some parking spaces and she decided to cut me off to park her car. I couldn't avoided and hit her. Told the cop what happened and she did too. Her story was different from mine, but the cop said that my story coincide with the way the wreck was. But since there are conflict, he couldn't decide who was at fault. Now I'm dealing with the aftermath. I'm glad it wasn't on my new Porsche, I would have divested. Truth is, I was going to drive the Porsche that day, but decided on driving the truck.

The cover for the steering column is so small and it is not a flat surface, it has different shape surfaces, so the suction cup has to be really small or if multiple suctions, they will have to be able to height adjust to compensate for the difference in height on the surface.
