My Taycan GTS

My 2022 Taycan GTS in chalk over Bordeaux arrived at the dealer and was able to take delivery last night after work. I ordered the car 3/21/22, the order locked 4/4/22, production completed 5/24 and the car was on a boat 6/8. It arrived at the dealer 6/23 and I picked her up 6/28 (before the end of the month per the salesman’s request Estimated arrival date was originally 7/8.

So far, I am very impressed with the car. This being my first Porsche and MY first EV (wife has a Tesla Model Y). The car is very quiet, rides amazing even low with sport suspension and is crazy fast (I hope I don’t get myself in trouble).

I decided to get the Porsche wheel and tire protection for 48 month. It was listed at $2380 and I negotiated down to $2150. It covers unlimited wheel and tire replacement over the term of the contract with a $50 deductible per incident and 8 cosmetic repairs. It is transferable to a new owner for $50 or you can get a prorated refund based on time and amount used for repairs/replacements. Given that a new wheel and tire would be $1400-1500 I figured it was a safe bet.

First few mods:
Porsche all-weather rubber mats, and rubber frunk and trunk liners.

Key cover in gray which comes really close to the chalk color.

ProClip phone mount and red USB cable

Xpel PPF over entire front end and Xpel ceramic tint 20% all around.

I’ve already gotten a few head turns when I have driven by people on the street. I think it is more the sport sound than anything else. I wish I could turn it up even louder

Where did you find the gray key fob shell that is close to your Chalk paint? My 718 is Chalk, but I’ve not found the right source yet.

Thanks. Amazon of course It’s close, but not perfect but for $18 I don’t mind. I doubt people would even know unless the key is laying on the car.

Any driving impressions on the GTS?

Wife has a CT4 and we have found that we keep the suspension in sport mode all the time, otherwise it can get a little floaty.

I think that my friend’s description that “nothing drives like a Porsche” is so true. The GTS is super composed and flat through really aggressive driving but never becomes bumpy and abusive like my wife’s Tesla MY is. It is the ultimate daily driver. Quiet, smooth, amazingly fast. The only thing it can’t do is carry 7 people and a crap load of stuff (that’s what the GLS is for). I use individual mode with sport plus acceleration, sport suspension and low height with sport sound on and almost never change out of individual.

Beautiful car! I’ve got a chalk (crayon in UK) GTS on order to replace my black 4S - ordered in January but looks like another 6 month wait with all the well documented delays…. Enjoy
