Door handles out while charging on 992

Hi All,
So I finally connected my battery charging my 992 GTS, I left the frunk semi-closed, not completely closed. And I noticed while charging, the door handles stay "out" while it is charging. Is that ok? Keys are not near the car. Is it because the frunk is still open?

If you run your maintainer wire out of the gap in the frunk by the windshield (close to the fender) you can close the frunk lid completely. Then you can lock the car. That will also put the car's various systems to sleep over time. That is the procedure I used with my 992 Carrera.

@Hawk I just afraid that the positive alligator clip will contact the frunk. That is the only reason that I left it semi-open. It is weird on how to clip the alligator connectors. Not much room on the positive side of the battery.

I did not experience that issue as I didn't use or try the alligator clips. I used a hard wire connection / extension off the battery and ground that I ran into the frunk and simply would plug into.

@elm310 What type of battery are they using in the GTS? Is it the LiFePO4 or AGM?

I've charged mine without the door handles sticking out. I have the lithium battery and, from memory, the alligator clips things weren't close to the hood, so I did shut it that way (though now I'm wondering if I just overlooked that risk?). I'm guessing your door handles stayed up because the frunk wasn't fully latched...

@Hawk the dealership told me that I have the AGM battery, not the Li.

I'm going to look again, I might have space also and will shut the frunk completely. That should take care of the door handles.

@Tom and @Hawk it's all good. Did have enough room between clips and frunk, so I went ahead and fully closed the frunk and in a few seconds the door handles retracted to closed or normal mode. Thank you both.
