Boxster 987 speaker and amp upgrade...

I ordered woofer speakers from Crutchfield but the speakers did not fit. Anybody had any luck with upgrading speakers?

I built these 5 1/2 in. speaker holders .
Lots of trial and error . Face is 1/8 ply covered in leather. 1/32 ply for side and back.
Sounds remarkable.
And yes I know it's dangerous in a crash. I'm 64 and never had a crash so I'll take my chances.

The woofers in the doors are indeed not a standard size. I used these 5.25" adapters for my 987.1:

I had to drill an extra hole because one of the premade ones didn't align, but other than that it was fine.
