@Tom Had a few minutes this afternoon and decided to install my "Carmine Red" Drive Mode Dial Cover and Button. They really add a pop of color and a unique Carpokes touch to my Cayenne. The paint is perfect and the finish is as smooth as glass! Porsche could not have done it any better. Thanks so much for all you do for us fellow Carpokeans.

I used a slightly smaller 5/16" hollow punch to punch out a few buttons from some scrap pieces of Red Vinyl I had lying around instead of using the 3/8" buttons. The smaller 5/16" buttons fit and conform perfectly within the button recess. Used a long stem cotton Q-tip with double sided clear tape on the end as a tool to center the button. Worked perfectly.

Looks great! Looks like it matches the dot color too... As someone who started a decade ago with a self-assembled 3D printer kit, I'm still amazed at how glass smooth you can print parts these days.

Which one is that -- the lighter one or the darker one?

The light one was "Sunrise Red" which is my "guards red" but I played around with dark primer to deepen it up a bit. The darker one was Ruby Red, also from Rustoleum, which is actually close to Carmine in real life, but also comes out deeper/darker on the grey plastic. It has a little more 'brick' color to it than Carmine, but pretty close. Here's a sample of the Ruby Red against a Carmine Macan....

The "Sunrise Red" was a much better match. The combination of the "Sunrise Red" over the darker primer is close enough to Carmine Red. We held them both up against the Carmine Red and it was no contest. The "Ruby Red" didn't match the tone of the Carmine Red. It is not only darker but also the 'brick' tone is not a good match to Carmine.

The dot color is a very good match to the "Sunrise Red." It is the lighter of the two vinyls.

Also punched out a bunch of 3/8" WIVID+ Glossy Smurf Blue (aka "Shark Blue") buttons just waiting to be installed together with my Bezel set and Drive Mode Dial Cover.

What do you use to attach the button?

I used a long wood stem Q-tip which has a smaller diameter cotton swab on one end. Tightly wrapped some clear double sided Scotch brand tape around the cotton swab end. I then roughly centered the vinyl dot on the end of the Q-tip. It was very easy to control, using one hand to steady the other, and see clearly to be able to center it in the recess of the Drive Mode Dial Button.

Certainly nothing like Tom's placement tool but, was much better than trying to place the dot with my fingers.
