My headlights are stuck open. I’ve removed the motor and I’m jumping/jumper pins 30 to 87a and 87. The motor only moves 87. Won’t run on 87a. In other words the motor is only turning in one direction.

Does this mean bad motor? I can’t find anywhere where it says it should turn in both directions.

My pop ups occasional get stuck open, but if I turn the knob on top of the motor slightly (clockwise I think), then the motor kicks in and they close. Don't grab the knob as it starts spinning after getting unstuck, just twist with finger tips. I don't know why this happens.

If your knob is broken or missing (like mine), I use a finger grip socket seated on the hex shaft of the headlight motor (I keep in my glovebox):
